Two quotes and frameworks that Puja and Georgia have been using to guide their youth work this year are:
"If Black women were free, it would mean that everyone else would have to be free since our freedom would necessitate the destruction of all the systems of oppression." From The Combahee River Collective Statement.

And the framework that “Youth must first; see the system, name the system, and survive the system, before they start pushing back against the system. All of these steps are youth advocacy” - Georgia Wyman

We find these frameworks foundational in creating youth-led spaces that are driven by intersectionality and anti-oppression. We will be facilitating a conversation around what insights these ideas/frameworks give us about anti-oppressive work and youth leadership and how they can inform our work.
